Across South Georgia

Guided expedition, November 2 – 30, 2021

In the Footsteps of Sir Ernest Shackleton

The story of Sir Ernest Shackleton is one of the great expedition stories from the golden age of discovery and exploration of the polar regions. The name Shackleton has stood for leadership and stamina for a hundred years. He saved the lives of his men by his pioneer crossing of South Georgia. We follow this route, which Shackleton first took a little over a hundred years ago, and follow in the footsteps of one of the greatest adventures in the history of mankind: Dates and information

Across South Georgia

Coast to Coast 2018

«An Expedition just like back in the day»

With the sailing boat, on foot and with the kite we successfully completed our Greenland crossing 2018 - an adventure in pure form, deliberate, sometimes uncertain and full of lasting experiences.

It was a hard piece of work to get to Greenland. At the beginning of July 2018 I left with Stefan Glowacz and Philipp Hans for our Coast-to-Coast-Expedition "by fair means". We drove with two electric cars from Munich to Scotland, adapting step by step to the slow progress: For example, we optimized our time management by sleeping when the batteries needed a charge of electricity on the way. The situation became more challenging when we landlubbers were at sea. On board the sailing boat "Santa Maria" we set course for Greenland, via Iceland to the west coast of Greenland. It took many days until we were ready to cover a shift on deck on our own. Not to mention how we survived stormy days with meter-high waves, kept the nausea at bay and got used to the eternal loneliness on the water. (...)

Greenland Traverse

Greenland Traverse

Guided expedition, May 14 - June 12, 2023

Initially, the Greenland Traverse sounds a bit less exclusive than the North or South Pole; don’t let yourself be fooled, the traverse is more demanding and strenuous than most other expeditions. One thing is for certain, nothing is for free. The adventurer is put to test by furious winds blowing away anything in their path, gaping crevasses lying threatening at his feet and the monotony and vastness will gnaw away at his innermost thoughts while extreme low or high temperatures and an everlasting wind constantly give him a hard time.
