Save, sturdy and efficient

A stove system is one of the most important pieces of equipment on an expedition, having a solution that makes sense is even more important. Three major criteria define my system: it has to be safe, sturdy and efficient. This stove was put to test on numerous occasions, amongst others on the 85-day Franz-Joseph-Land expedition, and met all demands.

It features a carbon plate with a pot support and a fuel bottle holder, a cooking pot and the stove. Efficiently burns up to 1/3 less fuel than any other stove.

I’ve already used the carbon cooking plate on many expeditions. The material makes it extremely light and yet robust. A support frame is a must during cold-weather expeditions. It is designed to support the stove, enables less fuel usage, easy maintenance and ready for use, saving time, which can be crucial in an emergency situation. The stove is easy to handle and safe, if for example used as a heat source in the middle of a tent. The stove plate is designed for the MSR XGK stove, the safest, most efficient extreme-condition stove on the market and for a 0,5l fuel bottle. The stove plate can be modified according to the stove in use.

Willy Goutvik originally developed the cooking pot for a special unit of the Norwegian army, the main goal being to save fuel. I have now started the batch production of the stove in Switzerland. The aluminum pot has a double-sided wall for better insulation, based on the historic Nansen stove. It features a lid, preventing condensation within the tent and can hold up to 3 liters.

Both the stove plate and pot can be ordered separately, the stove only in combination with the complete stove system.
